Christmas Memories

My father is an avid hunter. My house growing up was filled with the head mounts of the animals he had hunted. Outside my childhood home was a grain mill. On top of the mill was a bright red light. However, I never noticed this light unless it was Christmas Eve. On Christmas Eve, my dad would get out his gun and start to clean it. He would look out the window and point to the light. He would tell me and my siblings that wanted to add "Rudolph" to his collection.

WE WERE HORRIFIED!!! And, we would beg for Rudolph's life. :)

My Dad agreed to spare Rudoph if we would go to bed immediately. We would quickly go to bed - we didn't dare move a muscle. We would pray that Santa would arrive safe and sound and that Daddy would miss (if he did take a shot.)

Somehow, Santa always made it and Rudolph lived to be hunted another year. Say what you may, but it was a very effective way to get excited kids to go to bed on time. And, now it makes for a fun memory of Christmas time. So, yes, Good-looking will be continuing the tradition. Merry Christmas! Hope your holidays are full good memories!
